With many buildings sitting empty during the COVID-19 pandemic, the risk of having a severe outbreak of Legionella bacteria increases. This bacteria can grow in stagnant water and poses a threat to municipal workers, as it can cause the potentially fatal Legionnaires’ disease. In this presentation, we will discuss the importance of testing water for Legionella.
James Dyer, CEO of Genemis Laboratories of America, is a former pool and spa builder in the Washington, D.C., area and has been in the water business for decades. Dyer loves teaching about Legionella bacteria in swimming pool and spa water.
Sandi Newman is a former educational consultant who worked with children with disabilities and transferred over after retirement to water testing, due to the fact that she wished to help water be safe for all. By 2050 there will be 50% increase of those who want fresh water. Newman holds a master's degree from Columbia University.
