Small pipe inspection cameras from SubSurface Instruments fit down a 1-inch diameter pipe. They are available in 1/4- (IC6) or 1/2-inch (IC12) camera heads. These small camera heads have been used in large cities for identifying the pipe composition of water service lines. They can be inserted in the waterline at or in the house and pushed down the service line looking for lead pipes or inserts in the line all the way to the water main with virtually no excavating, saving time and making it easy to determine if and where there is lead in the service line. 920-347-1788; www.ssilocators.com.
