When thinking of valve maintenance activities, the first thing that comes to mind is the hardware designed to exercise valves. The next most important item is the software that controls the hardware — an integral part of a valve maintenance program. That makes it important to choose an equipment supplier that is class-leading in both hardware and software. Wachs Utility Products, with its exclusive Vitals software, is that supplier.
Vitals is an acronym for Valve Information Tracking and Logging System. Wachs Vitals 3.8.X software is a leader in the the field when it comes to critical valve maintenance software functions such as: controlling the equipment; recording the data generated; and transferring or synchronizing this data to your desktop GIS system.
How it works
Vitals Software is comprised of two modules, Vitals Mobile and Vitals Desktop. Here’s how it works: Wachs Vitals-equipped machines contain the necessary motors and sensors, Vitals software contains the operating and recordability instructions, and the company’s TC-100 tablet controller provides the microprocessor brains and memory.
Vitals offers users precise control of valve operation. Digital torque and turn displays provide clear insight into a valve’s condition, while the electronic torque sensor records the torque chart. Adjustable torque control limits include indicators that signal when preset limits are reached, and trigger auto shutdown or auto reverse to prevent valve damage.
Wireless option
The Wachs TC-100 controller gives you the option to control the equipment wired or wireless via Bluetooth. It helps keep your crew curbside, out of traffic where accidents can and do occur. Vitals gives you the ability to exercise valves, capture the data, and transfer it to your desktop safely and remotely. Contact your local Wachs representative to learn how Vitals software can enhance your valve maintenance program.
